Advice for Students

On Monday 23rd March 2020, the UK Prime Minister announced strict new measures to help stop the spread of Coronavirus.

From this evening people must stay at home except:

  • to shop for essentials such as food
  • allowed outside for 1 x exercise session per day
  • any medical need
  • travelling to and from essential work

All shops selling non-essential goods such as clothing and electrical items will be shut. Gatherings of more than two people who do not live in the same household is prohibited.

You must follow these rules and remain at home/in your student accommodation.

If you do not follow these rules the police will have the powers to enforce them and you could face fines, and groups of people will be dispersed.

The UK Government will review these measures in 3 weeks' time and will provide further updates.
